Chris has finally moved out into her own apartment, and I have been trying to help her to furnish it. How exciting – her very first home of her own! I was hoping to get her a nice drinks tray table to accessorize her place. I know she really likes the styles of Baker furniture, and I have been having a really hard time to find baker furniture here in a local store. So I went online to see if there are any local stores that carry it, and I have found a few websites that claim to carry it, but nobody locally. And the websites that I found that show the furniture won’t even list the prices! How frustrating is that!
Two times a year we have to change our clocks here due to daylight savings time. I don’t really mind it that much in the Fall when I get to sleep in for an extra hour. But when it means I have to get up an hour earlier tomorrow morning, I’m not really too excited about it.
Thanks to technology I don’t have to change the clocks on my computer or even on my cable box. However, I still have to go around and manually change all of the rest of the clocks in my home. I have more clocks that I realized. I have a clock in each of my bathrooms, alarm clocks in our bedrooms, the microwave, and a nice wall clock in the living room. I even have one hanging outside on the patio. The digital clocks took no time at all to reset, but the analog clocks required me to take them off the wall and rehang them.
Now that I’ve changed all of the clocks in my home, I have to remember to change the clock in the car before I go to church in the morning. Clocks, clocks, everywhere sheesh!
Lady Bug and I are going to stay up late tonight to watch the ball drop. We did a fun craft and made glasses to wear that have the number 2015 in gold and silver. This is the first year that I’ve let her stay up late to celebrate with me. I got us noise makers and of course we’ll bang on pots and pans. It wouldn’t be New Years without champagne, but I got us some kid sparkling cider instead. Lady Bug will love the bubbles and toasting with her mommy.
Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year’s Eve!

This is the first year I have been old enough to vote and I DID IT!! I hope you did too. My grandmother told me that this is one of the most important things I can do to help our country. It doesn’t matter if the person I voted for wins or loses, my voice was heard either way. That’s a pretty empowering feeling to know that my one tiny voice will be heard. I just hope the best man wins no matter which one it is. I just hope they help all of us and not a select few.
I went to a local retail store and I couldn’t believe my eyes. They had about 5 times more Christmas stuff out than they did Halloween stuff and that even includes all the candy. Why is it that it seems every year they put the Christmas stuff out earlier and earlier? I guess they’re trying to catch people while they still have a little money hoping they’ll start their Christmas shopping early.
Well I don’t get my Christmas fund money until the middle of November so I couldn’t start shopping for Christmas if I wanted to yet. You know, I could start putting stuff on layaway. What am I saying? Here I was fussing and now I’m thinking of layaway. Shame on me!!
