Michelle loves Humming Birds

There is a hummingbird feeder outside Michelle’s bedroom window. She will sit by her window for hours watching the hummingbirds eat. The first time she saw one, she thought it was a big bee and was afraid it would scare the birds away. I explained that they were birds and not a bee. After that, she was hooked.

This is the first year I have ever had hummingbird feeders at our house and my grandmother told me that we have to take them in over Labor Day Weekend. I didn’t know that. She told me that the hummingbirds will stay here too long and not be able to get to where they go over the winter if I leave the feeders out for them. I thought there might be others out there that didn’t know that either so hopefully this is helpful to some of you. We do want them to be safe and return next year after all.

Of all the darn things

Here I have spent all of my saved money to redo my bedroom and now my air conditioner is acting up. It’s cool one moment and then hot the next. I dread seeing what it’s going to cost me to get it fixed. Hopefully it’s something simple and not something that will cost me an arm and a leg. I could offer them my first born but I would miss her too much, so push come to shove…………I’ll have to put it on my Master Card. At least the card I got has a low interest rate and even rewards too.

Chris has finally moved out into her own apartment, and I have been trying to help her to furnish it. How exciting – her very first home of her own! I was hoping to get her a nice drinks tray table to accessorize her place. I know she really likes the styles of Baker furniture, and I have been having a really hard time to find baker furniture here in a local store. So I went online to see if there are any local stores that carry it, and I have found a few websites that claim to carry it, but nobody locally. And the websites that I found that show the furniture won’t even list the prices! How frustrating is that!

Change Your Clocks for Daylight Savings Time

Two times a year we have to change our clocks here due to daylight savings time. I don’t really mind it that much in the Fall when I get to sleep in for an extra hour. But when it means I have to get up an hour earlier tomorrow morning, I’m not really too excited about it.

Thanks to technology I don’t have to change the clocks on my computer or even on my cable box. However, I still have to go around and manually change all of the rest of the clocks in my home. I have more clocks that I realized. I have a clock in each of my bathrooms, alarm clocks in our bedrooms, the microwave, and a nice wall clock in the living room. I even have one hanging outside on the patio. The digital clocks took no time at all to reset, but the analog clocks required me to take them off the wall and rehang them.

Now that I’ve changed all of the clocks in my home, I have to remember to change the clock in the car before I go to church in the morning.  Clocks, clocks, everywhere sheesh!

A Simple New Year’s Eve at Home

Lady Bug and I are going to stay up late tonight to watch the ball drop. We did a fun craft and made glasses to wear that have the number 2015 in gold and silver. This is the first year that I’ve let her stay up late to celebrate with me. I got us noise makers and of course we’ll bang on pots and pans. It wouldn’t be New Years without champagne, but I got us some kid sparkling cider instead. Lady Bug will love the bubbles and toasting with her mommy.

Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year’s Eve!
