Finding the Perfect Wine Wedding Favors

As I was looking through some of the bridal magazines Heather brought over I found a really neat section on wine wedding favors. How neat would it be to receive a wine wedding favor.

There are a variety of different options to choose from when it comes to wine wedding favors. You can offer wine stoppers in a shape that will compliment your theme. For example a star fish for a beach wedding or a snow flake for a winter wedding.  I would love to see a double heart wine stopper myself.

Couples can give their guests personalized wine glasses The glasses can commemorate the special event with the names and date of the bridge and groom. Every time the glasses are used they will be reminded of the happy couple and the commitment they made.

Coasters are another option that can be elegant or simple. They come in both cork or glass and can add a touch of flair to your table depending on the design you choose. This option is also very functional and really who couldn’t use a nice set of coasters. These could make great gifts for people that elect not to drink wine or other alcoholic beverages.

There really is something for everyone when it comes to wine wedding favors. They also make great last minute additions to any wedding because there are so many flexible options.

Online Dating

A friend (and after you hear this you might wonder about my friend) suggested I try an online dating service. Now this is someone I have known for about 9 years now and she knows me good enough to know that I’m not so sure I could do something like that. I know that there are some good online dating sites out there but I also know there are some real nuts that slip through the cracks too. I almost fell over when she said that she met her fiance through one of them. I had no idea at all. I just might have to rethink all of this.

What makes a good relationship?

I’m not above reading articles about improving your relationship or what makes a good relationship. I found such an article recently. I think the article makes four excellent points that for some reason, there are some people that just don’t seem to understand. The first one is to be your ideal spouse or partner which ever the case may be. The second one is to think before you speak. I think that is extremely important because you can’t do a rewind and take out those things you said that you shouldn’t have.

I always learn something from articles like this and hope and pray that if and when I do find someone special, I’ll remember what it takes to have a good relationship.

Have you ever seen burlap drapes?

Have you ever seen burlap drapes? My grandmother was telling me about how when she was a young child, when she went to visit her grandparents, her grandmother often sewed things from burlap feed sacks! She was telling me that the sacks actually had pretty patterns on them because the companies knew that the home-makers were going to use the material to make dresses and aprons and decorate their homes! I decided to go online and see if I could see some examples of burlap drapes and I found some plain ones for sale at this website, but I am going to keep looking to see if I can find examples of some drapes that had patterns on the burlap.

Recycling at it’s finest?

I’m all for recycling. I told you about my microwave oven going out, right? Well my grandmother told me I should recycle it instead of just throwing it in my trash because the magnetron has radiation in it and that is not a good thing to be put in a landfill. I totally agreed with her and took it to our local county recycling center. They told me they would be glad to take it but would have to charge me $5.00 for the disposal fee. Say what? All they were going to do with it was throw it in the landfill. I told them that I thought they recycled microwave ovens; after all, the only thing wrong with this one is the main control panel was going out on it but the magnetron, transformer and fuse were all still good. He looked at me and said “I have no idea what you’re talking about but if you don’t want to pay us to throw it away then you could always take it to the Goodwill and donate it. That’s one way to get rid of it without paying us. “SAY WHAT???? I was totally appalled at what he was suggesting. I had no choice but to take it home and put it in my trash. I hated doing it but it was going to end up there no matter what I did.
