The weeds in my back yard are really frustrating me. There is a corner in the back that I just can’t seem to get a handle on. I’ve tried pulling them, spraying them, you name it I’ve done it. I’m at a loss as for what to do to get rid of them. I’d like my lawn to be free of weeds but I’m almost at the point of giving up.
I guess now is the time for me to either do a bunch more research on weed control or call out the big guys to see what they can suggest. I wonder if I can get a consultation and see if they can give me some advice. I might be better off just having them rip everything out and starting over. Renovating the back yard could be a fun project.
With the weather getting warmer, outdoor water activities are lots of fun. Right now we generally visit a local community pool, but I’m thinking about other ideas. I’m not sure if having a pool of our own is really what I want but, I did take a look around to see what our options are. One website that I found that has a bunch of options for pools is doheny.com.
Doheny has a few different above ground pools to take into consideration. I was surprised to see quick pools not just in circles, but also in rectangles. All my life I’ve only seen above ground pools in big giant circles. They have eight different sizes to choose from in the quick pools section. They even throw in a free volley ball set when you buy certain sizes. If that’s not incentive enough to buy maybe the four payment plan will persuade me.
The addition of a pool to our backyard will really make the warmer seasons all the more enjoyable. A swimming pool water slide could be an nice piece to add to the pool too! Lady Bug would really have a blast sliding into the pool with her friends. If we want to get a slide though we have to make the commitment to an in-ground pool. Maybe I’ll just start her off with some diving sticks and pool noodles if we get an above ground pool. Either way, I know we’ll be happy.
Teaching my daughter about the important of taking care of the Earth has made me think about other ways I can contribute to saving the planet and such. I decided to check out more information on solar energy. I found some great stuff by a company called solar is made easy.
The website for this company has information about solar energy, solar panels, and solar heating. It states that solar energy is an environmentally friendly way to heat your home. That sounds like exactly what I’m trying to teach my daughter about.I’m looking for ways we can change our life to positively impact the Earth. The website made a lot of sense in how it explains that sun rays are available to everyone for free. This totally made me think that I could even save money by not having to pay for a big utility bill. It also made me think I could consume less natural resources by using the practically unlimited supply of sun rays and not using things like gas.
I’m really excited to find out about possibly getting some solar panels installed on our home. It seems like there are endless possibilities for which we can use solar energy. It almost seems mind boggling to not want to have a reliable source of renewable energy that is also cost effective. I don’t know why I haven’t looked into solar energy sooner.
Recently, I’ve noticed a trend of using metal tiles to accent your home in decorating. The use of metal in the kitchen is nothing new. Many people have stainless steel appliances throughout their homes. I’m particularly fond of the way stainless steel looks in a kitchen. I like how it looks sharp, clean and cool. For some reason it makes me think things are sterile in a place where I know that’s important.
Decorating with metal in the kitchen seems familiar to me. However, decorating with large metal statement pieces in other parts of the home is a new idea to me. A fireplace covered in stainless steel tiles is eye catching and very breath taking. These tiles aren’t necessarily all perfect square 2″ x 2″ squares either. There are tiles manufactured to look like cobblestones, circles, hexagons, bricks and even mosaics. There really are a lot of choices to pick from.
My kitchen has stainless steel appliances, so I’m no stranger this type of accent in my home. However, I’ve never thought to add metal pieces of accents to other rooms in my home. Maybe this will be a project I might pursue in the future.
It sounds kind of gross but it really is time for me to get a new waste bin. The poor thing looks like it’s seen better days. I have one big one outside that I fill up and bring down to the curb once a week. Well, actually I have two, one is for trash and the other is for recycling. The two outside are still in decent condition it’s the one I have indoors that needs some work.
I’d like to get the kind that can go under the cabinet. Maybe even something fancy that can roll out. I saw in a magazine the kind that has two waste bins on rollers. If I got something like that I could use one for recycling and the other for the trash. That would make it really easy as I empty the stuff in the the appropriate large bins outside. The thirteen gallon trash bin I have in my kitchen is just soo ugly and grimy looking that I would love to get something hidden away. I guess I’ll be on the lookout for something like this this weekend.
